Yajuan Liu (Susan) is the principal of Hongxin Wealth & Tax Planning Group. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Washington Society of CPAs. As the founder of Hongxin, she has over 20 years of experience in providing comprehensive international tax planning and tax compliance services to U.S. citizens, green card holders, and Chinese investors. She also provides business, tax, expatriate and pre-immigration planning, and domestic and cross-border estate and trust planning to individuals and closely held, family-owned businesses. Yajuan specializes in international income and estate & gift taxation for pass-through entities, estates, trusts, and high net-worth individuals.

Yajuan also serves as a member of the University of Washington - Bothell’s School of Business Dean’s Advisory Board and she is a member of the University of Washington – Bothell’s Accounting Advisory Board. Yajuan provides strategic thought leadership and community connections to the school’s accounting program, leaders, and faculty and helps build external partnerships, and deepens the school’s relationship with the business community. Yajuan received both bachelor’s and master’s Degrees in Economics from prestigious Nankai University, which is consistently ranked as one of the 10 best universities in China.

In 2016 and 2022, Yajuan received special recognition for her outstanding service to the Chinese community. She inspires and empowers others to follow her example of giving back to the community. Before starting her own firm in 2015, she managed business and performance analysis, forecasting, and the creation and ownership of efficient financial processes at Microsoft. Then she began to work at Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor to high-net-worth clients. She successfully advised many families on their asset protections, investment portfolios, and wealth transfer strategies.

Yajuan is well known and active in the Puget Sound area Chinese community. She was a board member and treasurer of the Northeast China Association, and the tax advisor for the Washington Association of Chinese American Physicians.  She is also a frequent public speaker at seminars, and hosts “Yajuan Talks About Taxation” on Chinese Radio Seattle. Furthermore, Yajuan is a recurring tax expert on Phoenix Television, a worldwide satellite broadcasting network to Chinese-speaking communities. She is often invited to Beijing, Shanghai, and other major cities to give lectures to local investors and companies on tax consulting and planning.​
